Facts about a smartphone that has not yet come out, but has done a lot of noise: Samsung Galaxy S9

  • The 20-year-old student from Riga Veniamin Geskin is well-known in the industry as an insider under the name @ VenyaGeskin1, who last year was the first to upload the drawings and 3D models of the iPhone X.
A few hours ago, @ VenyaGeskin1 published an image of a three-dimensional model of the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S9, created on the basis of information available on the web.
We see a device that took over the design of the Galaxy S8, while the lower frame of the display has almost disappeared, and the upper one, according to sources, should become slightly narrower than that of its predecessor.
On the rear panel there is a double vertical camera, under which there is a fingerprint sensor.
The insider confirms the information that the first presentation of the device will take place in January 2018.
  • Samsung began manufacturing the Exynos processor with a 10-nm second-generation technical process. It's about the Exynos 9810 processor, which along with Snapdragon 845 will be installed in Galaxy S9 and S9 +.
The second generation 10-nm processor is 15% more powerful and energy-efficient solution, installed in the Galaxy S8. It sounds pretty interesting, considering that we are talking about the unchanged size of transistors. Probably, the transition to the 8-nm process technology is expected only next year. The company was ready last month to start production of processors with 8-nm process technology. It is expected that Galaxy Note 9 will be equipped with a processor with 7- or 8-nm process technology.
At the same time, earlier on the Web, information appeared that the company began shipping displays for the S9. As a rule, initially the displays are delivered, and then the other components, so the final product is released 2-3 months after the delivery of the displays.
Therefore, it is possible that the company can start selling Galaxy S9 much earlier than usual. At the same time, there is no doubt that the company will present S9 in January. The only question is when will sales begin? After all, why should a Korean giant hurry with production if sales are planned, for example, in March?
Most likely, sales can start not in March, as it was usual, but immediately after the presentation in late February at the MWC 2018 exhibition. And at CES 2018 in January the company can only partially tell about the gadget and generally confirm its existence in the hope of that users will wait a month and will not buy a rival Apple device. But it is possible that the Galaxy S9 can hit store shelves in January.
