The smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus uses a rounded on the side faces 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2960 × 1440 pixels (aspect ratio 18.5: 9). The density of the pixels is 529 ppi. Despite the fact that the new smartphone contains a 6.2-inch display, its size is comparable to the size of last year's version of the 5.5-inch version of the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Depending on the region of sale, the device can be equipped with its own processor Samsung Exynos 8895 or chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The amount of RAM is 4 GB, the capacity of the built-in flash memory is 64 GB. There is a slot for installing a microSD memory card with a capacity of up to 256 GB. The main 12-megapixel camera on the back panel is capable of recording video in 4K resolution. On the front panel is available 8-megapixel camera. The novelty is protected from water and dust in accordance with the requirements of the IP68 certification.

Note that the maximum score of 10 corresponds to the most easily repairable devices. Thus, the model in question can be repaired if necessary, but it will not be easy to do.

It is worth highlight the following points regarding the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus:

 

  • Many components are modular, they can be replaced independently of each other;
  • The battery can be replaced, but the abundance of durable adhesive makes this procedure very difficult. The battery itself has the following characteristics: 13.48 Wh, 3500 mAh, 3.85 V;
  • The front and back panels are made of glass, which increases the risk of cracking. A sufficiently strong adhesive on both panels makes it difficult to access internal components for repair.
  • Due to the curved display, replacing the glass on the front panel without damaging the display is extremely difficult.
