With the design of Xiaomi all right. Clear straight lines, slightly rounded corners, flat surfaces. Side frames are minimal, upper and lower are symmetrical. They are enough just to ensure a strong grip in landscape mode, to place the touch buttons (by the way, in the same order that the company's smartphones).

Buttons sit close enough. With the habit of not quite often miss on the side, getting only on the central "Home". The benefit of the volume swing and the power button are in the usual place and easy to get when using one hand. In general, Mi Pad 3 is similar to the maximally enhanced smartphone Xiaomi, for example Redmi 4A or Mi Max.

The main camera is in the corner, like the company's budget smartphones. The bottom of the all-metal case is a USB Type-C connector. A little higher on the back panel are two neat lattices of stereo speakers.

The body is one-piece, consists of one anodized aluminum panel. The display is also protected: a plate of tempered glass is used, completely covering the front side of the tablet.

Screen

Screen Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 - one of the best in the class. Like Apple, the aspect ratio is 4: 3. IPS technology provides maximum viewing angles, and the resolution of 2,048 × 1,536 points is the absence of a noticeable grid eye.

The protective glass and the display are made without an air gap. There is no inversion of colors.

Unfortunately, the developers completely forgot about the anti-reflective and oleophobic coatings. Fingerprints have to be regularly wiped off, and the turned-off display is almost impossible to photograph without glare. But there are several software features associated with the screen.

Hardware platform and performance

The last generation of the Mi Pad was equipped with an Intel processor. Users did not appreciate, therefore Xiaomi MI Pad 3 is equipped with a six-core processor MediaTek MT8176: 28-nanometer process technology, 2.1 GHz per core, video accelerator PowerVR GX6250.

The rather weak hardware platform is chosen to provide maximum stability. Xiaomi thus protected itself from the problems encountered in the past.

Records MediaTek does not beat either in synthetic tests, nor in real applications. But Asphalt and Epic Citadel work on the maximum settings (with a certain resolution!). Interface rendering - without lags. The increased amount of RAM - 4 GB - helps the tablet to cope even with heavy PDF-documents.

Autonomy

Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 is equipped with a quite impressive battery for its class at 6,600 mAh. Since 4G is not supported, this is enough to work for 10 hours with medium display brightness and in mixed mode of use (3D games, Internet surfing). In monochrome mode, this figure is increased by 1.5 hours. Turning off Wi-Fi extends the tablet life for another hour.

Unfortunately, there is no quick charge function. The charging standard is 5 V / 2 A, so the process takes as long as four hours.
